RVs for Fishing | Truck Campers, Toy Haulers & Boat Towers

For the serious angler, the RV is just a means to an end: getting to the water before sunrise. Whether you are chasing walleye in the north or bass in the south, the ideal Fishing RV needs to solve one major problem: How do I bring the boat?

This collection features the ultimate rigs for fishing trips. From Truck Campers (which allow you to tow your boat behind the truck) to powerful Class C Motorhomes (that can launch a boat with ease) and Toy Haulers (perfect for storing kayaks and tackle), these units are designed to support your obsession. We also prioritize features like Outdoor Kitchens—because nobody wants the smell of frying fish inside where they sleep.

The "Boat Towing" Solution

At RV Canada, the most common question we get from fishermen is: "How can I camp and bring my boat?" Here are the three best solutions:

  • The Truck Camper: This is the ultimate fishing setup. The camper slides into the bed of your pickup truck, leaving your hitch open. This allows you to tow your fishing boat behind you just like normal. It offers 4-season warmth without sacrificing your ability to tow.

  • The Motorhome (Class A or C): If you don't want a truck camper, drive the RV and tow the boat. A Class C Motorhome (on a Ford E-450 chassis) typically has a hitch rating of 5,000 to 7,500 lbs—plenty of muscle to pull a bass boat or walleye rig. Plus, your partner can make sandwiches in the RV while you wait in the boat launch line.

  • The Toy Hauler: Perfect for the kayak or canoe fisherman. The rear ramp door allows you to slide your vessels right into the living room for safe transport. Some larger Toy Haulers can even fit a small aluminum "tinner" boat inside.

Must-Have Features for Anglers

  • Outdoor Kitchen: This is non-negotiable. Cooking fresh fillets is delicious, but the smell lingers for days in a small space. An outdoor burner and sink let you prep, cook, and clean up in the fresh air.

  • Freezer Space: If you are keeping your limit, you need space to freeze it. Look for RVs with 12-Volt Residential Size Fridges or bring a separate chest freezer (Toy Haulers often have a plug for this in the garage).

  • Pass-Through Storage: Standard travel trailers often have "Pass-Through" storage at the front. This is the perfect spot to store long fishing rods safely in tubes to prevent tangles and broken tips.

Top Models for Fishing

  • Northern Lite (Truck Campers): These units are lightweight, aerodynamic, and comfortable. They sit securely in the truck bed, keeping your overall length shorter than a trailer setup, which helps when backing a boat down a steep ramp.

  • Jayco Redhawk / Greyhawk (Class C): Known for their sturdy hitches and powerful Ford V8 engines, these motorhomes make launching a boat easy. The rear backup cameras often let you see the hitch, making solo hookups a breeze.

Ready to Launch?

  • Check Your Hitch Rating: Not all RVs are rated to tow. Ask our team to verify the GCWR (Gross Combined Weight Rating) of any motorhome to ensure it can handle your specific boat.

  • Measure Your Rods: Bring your longest rod to the dealership. Test the storage compartments to ensure they fit.

  • Filter for Function: Use the filters above to find "Truck Campers" or units with "Outdoor Kitchens" to build your perfect fishing base camp
